Yellow 2001 Lotus Elise S2 manual coupe For Sale.

Available for sale is my 2001 Lotus Elise S2, which has the K-series Rover engine.

I have owned it since 2016 and it has been exceptionally well looked after.

There have been three modifications, all made by previous owners: a Hurricane Induction Kit, a Power Boost Valve, and the gull-wing roof which is a rarity and comprises of two panels that are easily detached and stored in pouches in the boot. This allows the car to alternate between a perfect open top or hard top with ease, giving the best of both worlds and avoiding the hassle of the soft top and inconvenience of a permanent hard top. I can’t stress enough how useful this has been. Lotus originally designed the car in this way but they abandoned these plans at the last minute. The car’s original soft top roof comes with the car but is redundant.

The gull wing panels and the T-bar were originally yellow on the upper half and a dullish grey/silver on the underside; I had the entirety of the panels professionally painted yellow and they look fantastic. The T-bar remains grey/silver on the underside which is not a problem at all but I’ll leave this to be painted by someone else in the future if they wish to.

The head gasket was reconditioned in 2016 by the previous owner just prior to when I bought the car. The cam belt and alternator belt were replaced at the same time. Since then the car has only done around 8,000 miles.

Last year there were two new front tyres, an ‘A’ service and a reconditioned pedal box which was a very expensive but necessary job. The MOT is due April 2027. There are no issues with the car whatsoever, except that in very heavy rain there can be some minor leakage at the edge of the roof panels so the car should really be stored in a garage rather than permanently outdoors.
For the last few years I have averaged only around 650 miles per year. I am in the process of downsizing and need my garage back so unfortunately the car has to go. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.
